Head-Up Display (HUD)

Genel Bakış
The Head-Up Display (HUD) system is a device installed in an aircraft cockpit that projects critical flight data onto a transparent screen at the pilot’s eye level, without obstructing the view of the ground.

The HUD is usually projected onto the windshield or a separate optical panel, allowing the pilot to receive flight and mission information (speed, altitude, status, fuel, ammunition, etc.) without having to tilt their head or look at a different screen. In Turkey, the HUD system is used in aircraft such as the F-16, T-38, C-130, KT-1T, Hürkuş, Hürjet, and other military aircraft owned by various countries.

Benefits of HUD for Pilots:

-Enhances situational awareness.

-Speeds up access to critical information and reduces distractions.

-Provides operational advantages in challenging visibility conditions (night flights, poor weather, etc.).

Technological Components of HUD:

-Optical Subunit

-Electronic Subunit

-Control Unit
